About the Workshop
The workshop covers all the essential areas that an LSA needs to know to be more effective and develop professional capabilities. It will draw on the day-to-day practices of LSAs working with young people in schools. Theoretical concepts are explored as the basis of developing learning support and teaching/learning skills. The course also explores issues such as behaviour management strategies. There is wide opportunity to gain some useful insights into how you can be more successful and effective in your work as an LSA. The day will provide practical activities for individual development and you will hopefully feel more confident and clear about your position and role as an LSA, and about your ability to increase your skills and knowledge.

Workshop Aims
The aims of the workshop are to:

• Explore the role of the LSA and how to increase your skills and knowledge
• Develop specific strategies for supporting teaching and learning
