Course Leader
Kevin Simpson is from Flint, Michigan and has been in the education field since 1998.    In 2007 he started KDSL Know.Do. Serve.Learn. He partners with education organizations worldwide to increase student achievement, teacher knowledge, and education leadership. Simpson hastaught and consulted in parochial, public, and international schools located in Washington, D.C., Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, Laos, Qatar, Dubai, Lebanon, and Thailand. 

Simpson has also served as a countywide elementary social studies curriculum teacher, preschool to twelfth grade curriculum coordinator, school-based elementary math specialist, and Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) Math Leaderand Teacher. He was a National Consultant with the U.S. Department of Education’s Teacher-to-Teacher Initiative which provided effective, research-based practices to educators across the country. 

Simpson specializes in school development, school improvement, teacher education, curriculum writing, and data-driven instruction. Engage in Mathematics Content Using The Math Workshop Model

The Math Workshop Model
The Math Workshop is based on the learning theory that knowledge emerges in a community of activity, discourse and reflection. It is a recognized teaching model that allows for differentiated instruction, flexible grouping and active engagement with mathematics for all students.

The key features of this model will be covered in the course of this workshop. The key features being:
  • The Model (Open, Work Time and Closing) 
  • The Rich Tasks (Cognitive demand of what students are asked to do) 
  • Differentiating Instruction 

Workshop Fee (per participant)
Regular: USD 600 (Course fee) + USD 100 (Meeting package)
